Routes
Borders, Belonging & Freedom is a screening installation by Mudland Studio featuring three short documentaries developed through its Democracy Lab.
Through stories of displacement, citizenship, protest and justice, the films explore how individuals and communities navigate questions of identity, belonging and democratic participation across contemporary South Asia.
The installation brings together:
- Wednesday in Camp Rohingya — an intimate glimpse into everyday life inside one of the world’s largest refugee settlements.
- Letter to Shaheen Bagh — a reflection on one of the most significant citizen-led protest movements in recent Indian history.
- Aamir: A Trial for Life — a story about justice, dignity and the human cost of prolonged legal uncertainty.
Visitors are welcome to enter at any time, watch excerpts or complete films, and engage in conversation throughout the evening.
Developed through Mudland Studio’s Democracy Lab, these works place lived experience at the centre of conversations around democracy, human rights and social change.
