Routes
Next Thursday, the first Creative Coding Meetup #inalab is scheduled! Creative Coding Amsterdam is a community for everyone who is fascinated by the creative side of programming or the wider world of art and technology. Together with them, we are organizing the upcoming Meetups from this community in A Lab.
On August 21, we welcome Wimer Hazenberg aka Monokai for his talk “Algorithms & Mistakes”.
If you've ever been close to a code editor in the past 20 years, you've probably seen the iconic “Monokai” color scheme that Wimer designed in 2006. Since then, he has built award-winning websites, created impressive fog photography and has been focusing in recent years on algorithmic art — the central theme of his talk.
🗣️ Algorithms & Mistakes
In algorithmic art, the randomizer the lead role. If you regulate it too much, it becomes predictable. If you let him go too free, chaos will ensue. Wimer shows how embracing unexpected outcomes can lead to surprising and inspiring creative discoveries.
After the talk, you can enjoy the results of the very first Space Invaders-themed coding challenge by Creative Coding Amsterdam
