Routes
Illustrator Marieke van Ditshuizen, together with Aslan Muziekcentrum, collected eleven simple songs from all over the world that you can sing with young children. As you sing, you'll travel from the Netherlands to New Zealand and from Suriname to Morocco. Along the way, you'll be amazed: a dancing bull, a caiman in the river, and a thousand lanterns lighting up the evening sky. Jef Aerts wrote irresistibly funny and imaginative stories to accompany them, inspired by the songs and illustrations. All children can sing along!
The original drawings from "Sing, Sing, Sing Around the World" are now on display at A Lab, on the ground floor. Come – with or without children – to A Lab, embark on a journey, and immerse yourself in the adventurous world of drawings, songs, and stories from all over the globe. The songs and stories can be listened to via Spotify or YouTube.
Want to see how the drawings were made? Then come on July 3rd to Open Labs and take a look inside Lab 001 between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Marieke's desk will have the materials, different versions, and sketches.
