Routes
A deeply personal documentary about loss, identity, and growing up without a father. For an hour and a half, Margie, Omar, and Angie – young adults from diverse cultural and social backgrounds – take viewers into their childhoods and family dynamics. They speak candidly about loss, rejection, and the absence of their fathers. They also reflect on how these experiences have shaped their mental health, identity, and path to adulthood.
For some young people, the absence of a father can contribute to feelings of depression and suicidal thoughts. Fatherless offers an intimate and honest look into the emotional reality of growing up in a difficult home situation.
