A Lab is an incubator in Amsterdam North where around 330 creative and socially engaged makers work on art, culture, sustainability and social impact. The A Lab Community is looking for a new one Community Manager that will be the hub in our network: a connector, listening, relationally strong and organizationally competent.
The Community Manager ensures that the members of A Lab can flourish. You are visible in the building, know everyone and know what is going on. You love being around people, you get energy from conversations and stories, and you see opportunities to take ideas further. This is how you contribute to A Lab's mission to facilitate impact makers.
What are you going to do?
Community & Connection
· First point of contact for our members. You are visible in the building, know everyone and know what is going on.
· Curation of new members: find and select new creators, thinkers, and doers who enrich our community
· Welcome new members and guide them in their start
· Setting up knowledge sessions, networking drinks and co-creation projects to stimulate collaboration and cross-pollination.
· Coordination and facilitation of setting up new and existing collectives
· Linking opportunities: bring members, projects and assignments together.
Strategy & Growth
· Translate community needs, ideas, and opportunities into strategic goals and actions for A Lab
· Collaborating with external partners in the cultural and social scene of Amsterdam North.
· Contribute to the visibility of A Lab and our community, online and offline.
Facility Support & Coordination
· Administrative and coordinating tasks around members, events and contracts
· Participate in the daily operation of the building
· Together with the team, ensure that processes run smoothly and information is organized
We are looking for someone who:
· Social & curious. You are genuinely interested in meeting new people and developing ideas.
· Organizationally strong and hands-on. You switch effortlessly between strategy and execution and you can't help but make a last-minute change.
· Has experience in community management, hospitality or a similar role
· Has an affinity in the cultural and social scene in Amsterdam North
· Speaks and writes fluently in Dutch and English and communicates easily with others
· Good at collaborating, listening and dares to speak up
· Available 32 - 36 hours a week
· Available at short notice
