A Lab wouldn't be A Lab without the great members that make up our community. Get to know our newest members, give them a warm welcome if you meet them and reach out if you can do something for each other.

Winston Ricardo Arnon recently started working as a creative producer at Stichting Bekijk't. He started his career as a versatile dancer and was educated at the Amsterdam University of the Arts and the Alvin Ailey School in New York. His professional career started in 2009 with Conny Janssen Danst in Rotterdam, after which he worked with various companies and institutions at home and abroad. From 2013 to 2020, he was associated with Stadttheater Bern in Switzerland, where he worked with a wide range of internationally renowned choreographers.

Parallel to his career as a performing dancer, he developed into a choreographer, working with various companies. In addition, he is a resident choreographer at Studio52nd. In addition to his artistic practice, he is active as a lecturer. He shares his knowledge and experience with both professional and pre-professional dancers and is known for his playful, energetic and detailed approach to teaching.

Over the years, he has further broadened his field of work. He is active as a committee member at the Performing Arts Fund (FPK), where he contributes to the assessment and development of artistic initiatives. In his role as a creative producer at Stichting Bekijk't, Arnon is driven by the conviction that knowledge should be shared as an ongoing exchange between experience, identity and community. From that vision, he is committed to bringing students from VMBO schools into contact with art and culture through film and media art.

Twan Roubroek is a member of the neighborhood studio in A Lab through MamaLouise. During the week, he builds websites for entrepreneurs and organizations that want to make the world a better place. Mostly for people in Amsterdam North, where he also works and (partly) lives. He does this under the name WP Twan. On the weekends, he is often busy with music such as DJ and occasionally organises parties under the label Social Gallery. His passion for music and dance floors dates back to the time when he was able to map the dance scene in China for ID&T in 2013, and that period ultimately dates back to TAG created, a nightclub in Chengdu where he was involved as co-owner. After returning to the Netherlands in 2020, Twan was captivated by the Dutch skyscapes that he often photographs.

Foundation for Democracy is a growing foundation that sees that our democratic culture is currently under pressure and that our democratic structures are faltering. That is why Voor Democratie works to strengthen and improve the democratic process, at the national and local levels. They do this by developing and implementing concrete projects, such as More MBO students in politics, Better (local) election debates and A better functioning House of Representatives. The three of them are now doing this: with Bram Eidhof, Christien van der Harst and Quin Blokzijl. In addition, Voor Democratie also has a small but indispensable team of volunteers that helps them and there are many friends from the foundation. You're always welcome to knock on the door for a cup of coffee and a good conversation about our democracy!

Annelies Verhulst Every Sunday, at IMC Weekend School, takes children aged 10-13 on an expedition into the future. She develops interactive lessons with professionals such as doctors, plumbers, artists or air traffic controllers and also takes students to places where the real work takes place - such as a hospital or court. In this way, children experience the different occupations and learn a lot about themselves at the same time.

The plans are being made from Lab 1.07, including together with her colleagues and fellow A Lab members Clara, Zina and Noa. The Weekend School is always looking for enthusiasts who want to give a guest lesson in their profession, so if you'd like, be sure to let one of them know! In addition to being an expedition leader at the Weekend School, Annelies is also a photographer, podcast maker and producer of community art projects. Her favorite colors are yellow and pink.

Stella Nelissen has been strengthening the team of RFG Media Foundation as a community and event manager. RFG is committed to refugee media makers who want to work in the Netherlands as (investigative) journalists or photographers. Stella was educated as a Dutch scientist and media scientist, and has a background in the book business. Since she started freelancing, she has mainly focused on social community management and programming. She prefers to be the link between groups of people who don't meet each other directly in daily life, but who can make (and implement!) creative and inspiring plans together. In addition to RFG Media, she currently works for Waag Futurelab, the Rijksmuseum and The Drone Lab and occasionally does an editorial job on the side. In her spare time, Stella enjoys 'weird outings', such as spoon cutting, wipe-out sports tournaments, playing bitterballs, singing pop-up or obscure folk dancing. Weird tips? Always welcome!

Finn Stuart van de Plas is a second-year event producer student at ROC College Zuid and has been an internship at A Lab HQ since February. Before that, he did an internship at the Amsterdam Dance Event, which was an intensive but very educational experience. This period really gave him a passion for the profession.

Now he is part of the team to further broaden his skills and to experience and better understand the social side of events. Before starting his education, he took a gap year. This was a very instructive time for him. In that year, he developed important social skills and acquired new work-related skills, including team management and stress resistance. Although his parents were not too happy with his choice for a gap year at first, they are ultimately very proud of the step he took. Curious about more? Walk in on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday or click here.
