Routes
In this first edition of Noord explores... we focus on the space for temporary initiatives. Over the past twenty years, many innovative ideas and creators have found a permanent home in Amsterdam-Noord. They brought places to life, fostered connections, and gave neighborhoods new energy. But what happens after the experimental phase? How do we ensure that the resulting value is maintained?
On May 28, Northerners, entrepreneurs, and the Municipality of Amsterdam will come together to share ideas and look ahead to the future of Noord. In an adventurous and in-depth program, we explore what we find important, what kind of city we want to live in, and how different uses can lead to lasting value for the district. We not only look at what is happening, but also at how it works and where there is room to do things differently. What if the temporary is not an intermediate phase, but an enduring reality where value can arise? What does it take to look beyond temporality? And how can Amsterdam become an example for other cities?
