With this name, the space joins other areas in our building named after women who were pioneers and made a lasting impact on society.
To find the perfect name, we consulted the A Lab community. The winning idea, 'RBG Club', was submitted by A Lab member Bjorn Schipper from Plus One Legal.
This was adapted to RBG Studio, which fits perfectly with everything this versatile space has to offer: from workshops and presentations to concerts, try-outs, emerging talent, and drinks.
"The rights of women, people of color, and the queer community are under pressure. In hindsight, that makes the name even more poignant. Let's see it as a statement that we must keep fighting for groups that are struggling and will continue to face challenges. Just as Ruth Bader Ginsburg did." - Bjorn Schipper.
An empty space only truly gains meaning through everything that will happen there. And that is exactly what RBG Studio is for.
