Martine has been working as an area developer at housing association Rochdale since July 2026. Previously, she held positions at MVRDV, Bouwinvest, and SITE urban development, among others. Throughout her career, she has been involved in a wide range of urban challenges, from the transformation of industrial estates into mixed-use residential and work areas to the development of public transport hubs. In doing so, she consistently seeks to bridge the gap between public and private interests.
Art and culture have also been a recurring theme in her work. Together with visual artist Gabriel Lester, she worked on PolyLester, an interdisciplinary design studio focused on activating public space. In addition, she served as chair of the artist residency Deltaworkers and the De Hemburgers Cooperative, a collective live-work project for creative entrepreneurs at the Hembrug site.
As a member of the Supervisory Board, Martine intends to use her knowledge of real estate and urban development to strengthen A Lab's mission. Drawing on her experience and involvement in the creative sector, she aims to contribute to the further development of A Lab as a critical and engaged sounding board.
